When Darkness Falls...

[Impy~]

"It's somewhere around here. Hurry, Kataki!" A small dark digimon called out behind him. Moonlight lit up the starry night sky as the last glimpse of the seting sun sank over the buildings in the distance.
"Coming, Impmon!" A girl called to her partner, digivice in hand. Kataki caught up to her digimon, Impmon, who stood infront of a field of a fog-like substance. "Alright, I'm ready kick this guy's highnie!" Impmon said, green eyes flashing in glee. A large shape was now visable in the fog.

Kataki glanced down at her digivice, which displayed an info circle over the screen.
"Devimon. Champion Digimon. Special attacks: Death Claw and Razor Wing..." The girl read the opponent information on her device, then glanced back at her partner.
"Be careful, Impy, this guy seems tough..."
"No problem! A'right, lets see what ya got!!" Impmon called out to Devimon, who emerged from the digital field, red eyes gleaming and it spread its large wings...

Kataki then swipped her digivice with a blue card.
"Digi-Modify! Digivolution activate!"

As her digimon began to charge at Devimon, a bright light surrounded Impmon, but faded almost instantly. Impmon stopped in his tracks.
"What the--" Kataki was shocked. Then again, she never really saw her partner digivolve before, so...
"Impmon, why aren't you digivolving?" She asked. Her partner looked back at her, eyes narrowed. "I don't know, but I don't need to digivolve to beat this guy!" Impmon snapped, then leaped up to face Devimon. The dark champion digimon lifted a clawed hand and slashed Impmon, throwing him off to the side. Impmon screamed at the impact, feeling a warm liquid run down his face.
Kataki watched in horror as he fell to the ground. "I-Impmon! Are you alright? Speak to me!"

"I-is that all you got?" Impmon snapped, lifting himself off the concrete ground and he turned to face Devimon again. "A little old lady with a bag of marshmellows could hit harder! It's time I showed a thing I like to call 'humility'!"
The little digimon charged towards his opponent again, and Devimon chuckled, evil laughter seeming to echo throughout the city...

"Shhh...",Lopmon said as she scouted ahead.
"What is it?",Gabriel asked close her on her heels.
Lopmon stopped and jumped onto Gabriel's head.
"Theres a fight up ahead.",Lopmon said pointing with one of her large brown and pink ears.
Gabriel moved them up closer to the fight and then a sudden a beeping came from his black and gold bordered digivice on his side.
"Hey Gabriel! I want to see the fight to!",TriceramonX yelled out.
At the same time Gabriel and Lopmon shhhh'ed him.
"Do you plan on degenerating?",Gabriel asked.
"No.",Triceramon answered.
"Then no.",Gabriel said.

Hiroshi stepped out of the glowing portal from the Digital World.

"Ugh," Tapirmon moaned. "I hate coming to this dimension." He looked around at all the humans. "It's so depressing."

Hiroshi hushed him. "Hurry and become invisible, Tapirmon; we don't want the humans to see you." He felt his Digivice iC barely vibrate as his other two partners, Patamon and Gaomon, were fighting for space inside of it.

"Let us out!!" Patamon screamed.

"No!" Hiroshi replied as the portal closed. Suddenly, he heard what sounded like an evil chuckle float through the air. Tapirmon's ears perked up.

"Hiroshi..." Tapirmon said in a very serious tone.

"I know, Tapirmon," he replied, and with that, they ran towards the sound of the laugh, hoping to find answers as to why he was brought to the Human World in the first place...

[Impy~]

"Badda-Boom!!"

A fireball flew through the air towards Devimon, only to be burnt out by one of the large digimon's clawed hands.
The evil digimon laughed again, a cold dark laugh.
Impmon growled in anger. "Stop laughing at me!!" He cried out, clenching his fists.
Devimon answered by slashing Impmon with his claws again. The dark little digimon screamed in pain and he was slammed into the ground.
Kataki watched in horror, brown eyes wide in fear. She couldn't take it anymore. "Impmon, no!!" She cried as she rushed over to her fallen partner. Kataki wrapped her arms around him and pulled an injured Impmon close to her, shutting her eyes.

"Foolish human... Don't interfere!" Devimon said, his cold voice echoing through the air. Impmon's torn ears twitched and he semi-opened his eyes to look up at his tamer. "Kata...ki..." He managed to cough out.
Devimon's wings suddenly stood completely still, and a strong dark wind seemed to appear out of nowhere. "Razor Wing!!" He yelled, as the wind pulled Kataki and Impmon slowly towards Devimon.
"NO! I won't let you hurt him!!" Kataki cried out, clutching Impmon as tight as she could, not wanting to let go of him.
"If only we were stronger... If only we could get help!"

[Gabriel Lux]

"We have to interfere!",Lopmon screamed to Gabriel breaking their silence.
"Ok. Lets do it! LOPMON DIGIVOLVE!",He screamed as he ran through the dark to the fight beside Kataki and Impmon.

Lopmon digivolved into her champion form; Wendigomon. The large brown digimon with long strong arms.

"CABEL CRUSHER!",Wendigomon yelled out as she passed Gabriel and the other two and struck out at the Devimon.
Gabriel took action by pulling Kataki and Impmon to their feet and moving them back.
Wendigomon took a hard hit and she flew backwards past them, then she quickly reqrouped and went back into the fight.

Kataki watched from afar, feeling helpless as she held Impmon in her arms. The little digimon had gone limp, and he had cuts and bruises over his body. The white mask on his face had areas of blood, due to the large scratch from Devimon's nails.

Devimon screeched in alarm as he was struck from Wendigomon's fists. He quickly recovered, and rushed towards the champion-level digimon, arms raised and claws bared.
"Death Claw!!" Devimon roared as he slashed Wendigomon once with one hand, then another time with the other.

"...Do you they'll win?" Kataki whispered to her partner, lowering her head to look at him. "Impmon?" She asked, when he didn't respond. She saw that his green eyes were closed, but he was still breathing.

"Okay Triceramon. Your turn.",Gabriel said as he recovered the degenerated Wendigomon; Lopmon after the last attack.

Gabriel raised his digivice into the air and clicked one of the golden buttons upon its surface and with a flash of gold light a large green, gold, and silver triceratops monster appeared.
It was the Ultimate level digimon TriceramonX.

"Golden Tri Horn Attack!",TriceramonX yelled as he launched forward at the Devimon with his glowing three-horned attack.

Hiroshi finally reached the area from which the laugh had originated. He looked on as the battle between Triceramon X and Devimon ensued.

"See, Tapirmon?" he scorned. "If you weren't so slow..."

"Oh, sure, blame it all on me," he said.

"Do you want to help?"

Patamon started to make noise from the confines of the digivice. "LET - ME - OUT!" he screamed. Hiroshi new of the ongoing conflicts between angel and devil Digimon.

"Fine," Hiroshi sighed. With a quick movement and the phrase "Patamon, Realise," Hiroshi was able to swap out his ghost Digimon for his angel. Hiroshi threw his right hand into the air above his head and snapped his fingers. A black and green DigiSoul appeared as he slammed it down onto his Digivice while saying "DigiSoul, Charge!"

"Patamon, shinka!" the mammal Digimon screamed as he evolved into Angemon. "Celestial Knuckle!" the angel screamed as he flew towards Devimon and landed a perfect punch on his chest. Devimon only stumbled. The evil Digimon laughed once more and with his huge arm knocked Angemon back into a wall, creating an indent in the brick.

"Angemon~!" Hiroshi screamed as he ran to his Digimon.

Kataki gasped as she saw a tamer's Angemon get slammed into a nearby wall. Impmon stirred in his tamer's arms, and he opened his eyes slightly.
"W-why are they helping? I could've beaten him by myself... Without d-digivolving..." He snapped, baring his teeth. Impmon then started coughing. Kataki stroked her partner's head soothingly.
"It's ok, Impy. I'm sure they will be able to handle it... You need to rest now, ok?" Kataki said, a little upset that Impmon said that he didn't need to Digivolve to get stronger. Will he ever understand?
Impmon shuddered slightly, then closed his green eyes and rested his head against Kataki's arms...

"I need to become stronger," Angemon was able to say as Hiroshi helped him to his feet.

"You're too damaged," Hiroshi said. "You don't have the strength."

"That doesn't matter!" Angemon exclaimed. "I can't let him hurt the other tamers."

Hiroshi nodded. "If you're sure..."

Angemon looked at him. "I'm sure."

Hiroshi did the same movement as before of throwing his hand above his head to summon his DigiSoul. He slammed it down onto his digivice as he screamed, "DigiSoul - Full Charge!" The digivice shone light towards Angemon, and a black symbol appeared to become absorbed into Angemon. The symbol was Hiroshi's Crest of Illusions.

"Angemon, shinka!" the champion angel announced. He evolved to a stronger angel with more wings and a sword. "MagnaAngemon!"

Hiroshi only hoped that the new evolution could help bring down the vampire.

[Gabriel Lux]

"Ok Triceramon! Lopmon will need this experince so step down.",He instructed.

TriceramonX backed down and took a seat on the ground next to Gabriel while Lopmon quickly stood up and a purple glow shrouded her.

"Bypass Digivolve!",Gabriel screamed to Lopmon as she quickly bypassed her champion form; Wendigomon, to her ultimate form; Antylamon a large and very tall brown finely dressed rabbit.
Right out of the purple glow she came attacking with her fierce 'Bunny Blades'.

"Finish the Devimon and absorb its data Antylamon!",Gabriel screamed as Antylamon destroyed the devil digimon and began to absorb its data in her palm.

[Impy~]

"Th-that data... should've been... mine..." Impmon muttered, torn ears twitching as he heard Devimon's data begin to flow into Antylamon's body.
"Impy..." Kataki's brown eyes lowered, looking at her digimon laying in her arms. Not knowing what else to say, she looked up from her partner to Gabriel, Antylamon, and the others.

MagnaAngemon floated down to Hiroshi in disbelief. He turned to face his master's infuriated face.

"See?" Hiroshi yelled at him. "If you weren't so slow, that data would have been ours!"

"If I wasn't so slow!? If you weren't too slow in giving orders!"

"You want orders?" Hiroshi screamed back. "Well, here's an order!" He held out his digivice and MagnaAngemon degenerated to Patamon and was absorbed into the digivice.

Hiroshi looked over at the shocked faces of the fellow tamers, looking in disbelief that a tamer would treat his Digimon that way. Hiroshi smirked and vanished in a flash of red light. The disembodied voice of Tapirmon lingered by long enough to tell them, "Don't mind him. He just has a temper... He's a good person deep down..."

Antylamon finished absorbing the digimon's data and then degenerated the Lopmon again.
After the other tamer's horrible display of friendship and caring Gabriel turned to the other tamer.
"Sorry. Do you need any help?",Gabriel asked looking at Kataki and Impmon.
Lopmon smiled running over to the two and looking at the Impmon caringly.
"Oh! We probably created alot of noise. Triceramon you need to return, come on.",Gabriel said holding out his digivice that quickly swallowed the large digimon while it was in the middle of a pathetic sigh.
"Come on miss. We need to move away from here before people come.",He said pointing in a direction as he turned towards it.
"We know a good hiding place in this world, come on.",Lopmon yelled out as they turned into a fast pace.

Hiroshi stood atop a building's roof. He watched as the other two tamers darted off away from the scene.

"I'll never understand why they insist on showing their love and care," Hiroshi muttered to himself. "That only causes vulnerability."

Tapirmon, who was beside him, thought, "I really wish you wouldn't think that way."

Hiroshi turned, hearing the telepathic message that the Digimon did not mean to send. "If you have something to say, Tapirmon, say it to my face."

"Well, if you heard me, then there isn't any need then is there?" Tapirmon retorted. "You act like you don't even care about us."

"Of course I care about you," Hiroshi said. "You three are my only and very best friends. Especially you, Tapirmon. I created you out of my own soul. I would do anything I could for you all, but if I show any signs of weakness, you-know-who could destroy us. I have to stay strong."

Tapirmon smiled. "I know." Hiroshi let a small, friendly smile appear on his face as he held out his digivice. Tapirmon nodded and joined his brothers inside of it.

"Are we going to follow them?" Gaomon asked from the digivice.

"Yes," Hiroshi said. "We have to be there to help. It's why we were brought here." And he leaped from the building and miraculously landed on the building across. He continued this as he followed the other tamers.
