Having our characters fight each other is cool and all, but how would we decide who would win? I have come up with a very fair (and possibly fun) way of deciding. Have you ever played the digimon card game? It works like this:
Okay, so we have two of the highest evolution digimon, mega levels, facing each other. You'll see a lot of strange symbols and stuff on these cards, and I'll fill you in on what they mean.
To see who wins, we have to look at their moves, on the lower left yellow box. First, for Phoenixmon, we see that he has:
red (circle) attack - defend - 350
green (square) attack - crimson flame - 530
yellow (diamond) attack - star light explosion - 530
Since his enemy, Piedmon, has the yellow (diamond) type, Phoenixmon will use his yellow (diamond) attack, star light explosion, with a digimon power of 530.
Next, we look at Piedmon's attacks.
Red - defend - 340
green - crown trick - 490
yellow - trump sword - 530
Piedmon would have to use his red attack, defend, with a digmon power of 340. Since Phoenixmon has 530 and Piedmon only has 340, Phoenixmon wins.
Now obviously we can't have every card for each digimon, as well as it not being 100% fair (Phoenixmon is just a better card than Piedmon). I found a way to get around that. We would make our own digimon cards. Now before you get discouraged, it's not as hard as it might sound.
All we would do was have the two people battling send a PM to a neutral party, which we would find in advance. The PM would contain a little bit of information, like this.
Name of Digimon
battle type (red, green, or yellow)
red attack-
green attack-
yellow attack-
(have the weakest attack be defend, and give a name for the other two)
To keep it fair, we would decide a number before hand, let's say 1000, to "spend" on digimon power. So, let's say I wanted to split it up like this:
Phoenixmon
Red type
red attack - defend - 200
green attack - crimson flame - 300
yellow attack - star light explosion - 500
200+300+500=1000
So basically, the sum of your attack power would equal 1000.
After both the contestants send their digimon information to the neutral party, the neutral party would post the information on their thread, and declare a winner. This way no one would be able to know their opponents digimon power until they have already sent their own.
It would probably work best if we had one topic be a "front desk" or whatever where we register a battle, and then found someone to be neutral, and then posted a separate topic for the actual battle.
I don't know does it sound fun? Too complicated? What do you guys think?
