Yes yes y'all, I've always thought the Final Fantasy series looked pretty sweet but never tried it out myself. Until a few weeks ago, when I took fate into my own hands and gave numero seven a spin. And d**n! That's a freakin' awesome game, took me more than a week to get to the last boss! (and, I'm getting around to beating ol' Seph one day). However, now I'm wondering where to go from there. Anyone on here play the series? Which is the best game after VII (or better than it?)?

OMG I used to LIVE for Final Fantasy. I've played all of them. My personal favorite is X, everything about it is perfect, and next in line for me would be VIII. FF X is probably much easier to find because it's for PS2 and not PS. The battle system in FF X is completely turn based, no ATB time gauges, there are 7 characters that you can switch out at any time during battle, the story is the best, the music is fantastic, it's the first FF with voice overs (including John DiMaggio aka Bender from Futurama as 2 main characters)...I can go on forever.
But Squall Leonhart from VIII is my favorite FF character.

My personal fav.s Are FF 10 and 7. Final Fantasy 11 is also entertaining. Moslty because its online with people aound the world who are on the computer, PS2, or X-box 360. I'm currently playing FF 12. Its pretty good I guess.
Also I suggest playing all the run-offs and before hands of FF 7. There are 3-4 I think and atleast one or two of them are for PSP. Theres said to be another run-off of FF 7 made only for cell phone. Idk.

I was kind of disappointed with 12. I forgot to mention that if you have a GBA/DS you can play the games prior to VII. My favorite out of the SNES FFs is V, but IV and VI are also very good. And for Sephiroth, he never even got to attack my characters thanks to the Knights of Round and Mimic materias.
If you can get past the lame moments of the characters and whatnot, the Kingdom Hearts games are also great, they are in essence live action Final Fantasy, it includes FF spells, monsters, weapons, etc.

And for Sephiroth, he never even got to attack my characters thanks to the Knights of Round and Mimic materias. Does that mean you missed his superduper-epic-mega-attack sequence where he destroys all the planets? (except Uranus. how did that planet gain immunity from his wrath? any explanations?) I did a test with it, when it started I went away from my computer, took a visit to the bathroom, made myself a cup of chocolate powder milk and two sandwiches, and when I got back it was still running. True story. Me, I've only got a PC. (well, and a N64) I've really been wanting to play KH but it's only for you PlayStationers Is X available for the comp?

I don't think so. But I know for certain that VIII is.
Basically, my fight with Seph went like this:
Cloud summons Knights of the Round.
Yuffie uses Mimic to summon Knights of the Round.
Sephiroth is dead!
Although it's a b-word to get, that overpowered red materia does 129,987 damage.
