Old rivalry

Renamon and Guilmon have had frequent clashes in the first few episodes of Tamers, but they never really finished their fights. So, given an equal playing field, who would triumph?

And by even playing field, I mean the following requirements:
No tamers
No cards
and No digivolving

That said, I personally believe that Guilmon would be victorious, or at least have a very good chance. Both would have to resort to close-range fighting, since Guilmon's Pyro Sphere is slow enough for Renamon to dodge easily, and Renamon's Diamond Storm apparently has no effect on Guilmon. Guilmon, however, makes up for speed in power, and once he has Renamon in a pin, she's done for.

I have and always will like Renamon better than any other Chosen digimon. She is really fast, and agile and rather intelligent. I believe the only reason why Guilmon was strong is because, in every Digimon season, there is one, or two Digimon that are always stronger than the others for no apparent reason. Agumon and Gabumon from Season one, Veemon and Wormmon in Season two, Guilmon in Season three, I never watched season four but I know it was the two who had the Greymon and Garurumon Spirits, and Season five was Agumon and Gaomon.

Putting that aside, Guilmon isn't a born fighter, he likes peanut butter and bread and sleeping around. He only has that fight drive because of something that was explained somewhere in there which I forgot. Even so, he goes beserk when fighting and doesn't think. Yes, he is strong, but you will never beat your opponont if you can't hit them.

As much as I like guilmon, Renamon would win. The few scraps that they had it was obvious that she would. She's not as strong, but she is much faster.
